NEW SmartOnes Pasta: not your usual spaghetti with meat sauce

Good morning!
I've had 2 NEW SmartOnes pasta dishes this week and couldn't wait to share them with you-- it was a nice surprise to see some new options in the SO's area in the freezer- I was starting to feel like I had tried everything they had when it came to "Classic Favorites", but they stepped it up!

Pasta with Ricotta and Spinach
Reading that title makes me hungry-- all ingredients that I love separately, and now know love together!! The pasta is small "ribbons" and are swimming in a great white sauce, with ricotta cheese and chopped spinach- all the textures in this dish are GREAT, and honestly, its hard to believe this is a weight watchers meal. It seriously tastes like something you could get at an Italian restaurant (minus the breadsticks and about 1000 calories!). I'm a big fan of spinach, so this one definitely got a thumbs up from me. These were also on big time sale at my grocer-- so a good time to pick a few up and try them out!

Mini Rigatoni with Vodka Cream Sauce
Normally, when I see vodka, its a hands-down winner. This dish was no different. The pasta in this one is perfectly cooked-- not mushy, but actually a little al dente! The sauce is awesome also, and its even topped with low fat mozzerella cheese. Of course more cheese would have been prefered, but they are actually petty generous. Overall, another GREAT pasta option!! This one is for sure whole grain also, another perk!

I'm bbacckkk!! NEW BRAND ALERT!!!

Oh, its been too long! I'm back from my trip and back on my frozen meal kick- it was a little hard to get back into it after eating such delicious (and not nutritious) food for 10 days-- its amazing how your body goes back to old habits so quickly...
Anyway-- I was stocking up on meals at the grocery the other day and spotted a NEW BRAND I had never seen before! The bright yellow box caught my attention: the brand is LightLife (brand makes other health food products but the meals are new!). I picked up the Linguine Sicilano Entree. Note: website says these are only available in the mid-Atlantic and NY (I never knew Columbus was mid-Atlantic, but whatevs) so if you aren't in those regions, you'll have to wait.
LightLife Linguine Sicilano
First off- you get a real feeling of "fresh" when you look at this meal. I LOVE that they keep the sauce separate so you can add as much or as little as you want- such a good idea. The ingredients in this dish looked and tasted fresh, and the whole grain pasta was awesome. Also, the serving seemed a little bigger than your typical LC or HC (always a plus!). The veggies featured in this dish are red peppers, asparagus, white beans, and tomatoes, with a delicous tomato sauce. The asparagus is awesome- really stood out!
I believe this whole brand is vegetarian- which would normally scare me. But this was really satisfying! The beans and pasta helped keep me full all night.
Some of the other entrees by LightLife are Asian, Mexican, and Indian inspired. I will totally be picking these up and will report back!
Overall- give these a try if you can find them in your grocery store-- and if you try any before me, please comment below and share your thoughts!
